Grey Phalarope Conwy RSPB

A nice Grey phalarope was found at Conwy RSPB this morning during high tide. Brisk SW'lys obviously pushed this bird in from the sea. The bird was showing well from the Carneddau hide sheltering in the left hand corner. 4th record for the reserve and 2nd within the space of a year!

Next stop was the Little Orme, where I immediately picked up a Great Skua chasing what looked like an dark morph Arctic Skua. Other birds included a couple of Sandwich Terns, a handful of Guillemots, Razorbills and a Gannet!

Buff Breasted Sandpiper at Conwy

Got the news of a Buff Breasted Sandpiper earlier today so after a half an hour stoppage on the A55 finally made it to Conwy RSPB to see the lovely American wader outside the hide of Tal-y fan.
